Can you help me?

Q: Ifm returning to Canada to work in the transport industry. I have been asked to provide a copy of my driving record. Where can I get one from?

@

A: Driving records are needed for such things as car insurance applications, license applications in many US States & Canadian Provinces & obtaining employment as a commercial driver. In Japan, there are 3 types of certificate available in English that show various aspects of your driving record including accidents and violations.

A copy of a certificate costs 700 Yen and takes a few days to process after application. In Aichi Prefecture applications can be done at the Safe Driving Center located at the Aichi Prefectural Police Headquarters. It is also possible for a third party to apply on your behalf - however application procedures & fees vary from branch to branch. Tel: 052-954-8930 Access: Located on Dekimachi-dori, 2-minutes walk from Shiyakusho Subway Station Exit 6. Website: www.jsdc.or.jp (Japanese)
