Nagoya City Sports Centers are open from 10:00 to 20:30 Monday to Saturday, until 18:00 on Sundays and holidays, and closed either on Mondays or Fridays. Most sports centers have a heated, indoor pool and a training room with weights and machines. These facilities are open to the general public.

Swimming Pools
It costs 500 Yen for adults and 200 Yen for under 15s to use the city pools. Books of tickets are also available; 11 for the price of 10 and 25 for the price of 20. Additionally, a monthly pass is also available; 5000 Yen for adults, 2000 Yen for under 15s. Children under 6 need to be accompanied by an adult. A swimming cap and towel are required.

Training Rooms
It costs 300 Yen for adults and 120 Yen for children to use the training rooms. A block of 5 tickets is also available; 1000 Yen for adults, 400 Yen for under 15s. Additionally, a monthly pass is also available; 2000 Yen for adults, 800 Yen for under 15s. Children under 12 are not allowed. Indoor shoes and towel are required.

‘Biwajima Sports Center - city buses Meieki 11(–Ό‰w11) and Meieki 26 (–Ό‰w26), leave from stops 9 and 10 of Nagoya Station City Bus Terminal, located next to the main post office. Get off at Biwajima Sports Center; closed on Fridays. Tel: 052- 532-4121.

Nihon Gaishi Arena is Nagoya Cityfs only 50m, 8-lane, Olympic-sized, indoor swimming pool that is open to the general public. It costs 700 Yen for adults and 300 Yen for under 15s. Books of tickets are also available; 11 for the price of 10 and 25 for the price of 20. Additionally, a monthly pass is also available; 7000 Yen for adults, 3000 Yen for under 15s. To enter the ticket gate, all children need to be accompanied by an adult; children between 6 and 8 need to be accompanied by an adult in the pool, and children under 6 are not allowed. A swimming cap and towel are required and all swimmers should to be able to swim at least 100m.
