Moving company: The costs of moving are sometimes very high. Get estimates from several movers before committing yourself to one. You can find moving companies in the Town Page telephone directory.

Garbage disposal: The Nagoya municipal authority does not collect the large volume of bulky refuse that may be left after you move out. You can apply at the Bulky Refuse Removal Center if the number of items does not exceed five. If the number of items exceeds five, you must dispose of them by yourself. You can get cardboard boxes for packing from nearby supermarkets or convenience stores.

Disposing of bulky refuse on your own
You can bring bulky items to the waste disposal site by yourself (10yen/1kg).
Please contact your local Environmental Works Office and apply at the counter by submitting the necessary documents and sorting your refuse as instructed. Obtain a "certificate for entry" to the site at the counter. Bring the refuse to the disposal site on the same day.

Contracting with a local garbage disposal dealer for a fee
Non-Industrial Waste Disposal Dealers Cooperative (Phone 052-961-5383) can introduce a local garbage disposal dealer. Procedures and fees differ from dealer to dealer.
Bring items to a dealer in used goods (free or charged).
Look in the Town Page telephone directory for a "recycle shop" - dealer in used goods - that will accept your furniture and other items.
