When confirming the contract, please consult with the landlord regarding the method of paying for utility charges. Contact the relevant office when you move in, when you move out, or if the name of the user or the
billing address changes.
Please make sure your electrical appliances are compatible with 100 V AC 60 Hz for use in Nagoya.
Electricity and gas
You must pay your utility bill every month. The amount of the bill varies depending on the amount of utilities used. A meter reader will come to your home every month and check the amount used, and leave a "Meter Reading Card" at your residence. With this slip you
can confirm how much you have used as well as that month's bill.

You can pay your utility fees by either of the following methods:
pre-authorized bank transfer (automatic withdrawal from your bank account)
making the payment at a bank or convenience store (using the payment slip mailed every month after the monthly usage
has been verified).
The receipt is attached to the "Meter Reading Card" for automatic bank transfers.
Whenever you make an inquiry about the bill, you will need to provide your customer identification number, which is on the Meter Reading Card.
English language brochures are available at your local utility office.

Water supply
Fees for water and sewage services are payable every other month. You can pay the bill in the same way as your electricity and gas bills. Sometimes your water service is included in the rent or the apartment maintenance fees.
If your sewage system needs servicing, ask your landlord or management company if the trouble is inside the building area. The person responsible for paying for the repairs differs depending on the terms of the contract or cause of the problem. If the trouble is
in the street system, contact the Sewer Maintenance Office of the Sewerage Bureau of your ward.
Please contact the office of the Waterworks Bureau of your ward concerning the water supply system.
