School Guidance Seminar for Children of Foreign Nationals


This Nagoya International Center seminar, co-hosted by the Nagoya Board of Education, will provide advice on the Japanese post-junior high admission system and possible options that students will have available to them once they have graduated from junior high school, an explanation of the entrance examination schedule, and a series of short presentations by representatives from local high schools.

Individual consultations with school representatives will also be available after the seminar.

English, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese and Filipino interpreters will be available.

The seminar is free, however places are limited to 80 parents and students.

Reservations are required and can be made, by calling the NIC (052-581-0100), or visiting the Nagoya International Center 3F Information Counter, or using the online form below from Thursday 15 June.

Students who entered high school this spring will talk about their experience.

School Presentations

There are a variety of types of senior high schools with different focuses. Teachers from 5 different schools will give short presentations about what their school has to offer.

・Nakagawa Commercial High School
・Nagoya City Technical High School (Evening School)
・Nagoya City Chuo High School (Evening School)
・Denpa Gakuen Nagoya Kogakuin High School
・Clark Memorial International High School (Distance Learning Senior)

3. Individual Consultations 15:50 – 16:30

Teachers from each of the 5 schools, the foreign presenters, staff from the Board of Education, and the Nagoya International Center Education Counselor will be operating Q&A booths and will be answering any questions.

When: Sun. 30 Jul. (13:00-16:30)
