Working together to Reduce Waste
みんなで取り組む ゴミ減量

In the effort to realize a sustainable, recycling-based society, it’s important for everyone to do their part and observe the Three Rs.

Reduce Reuse Recycle
Cut down on waste at the source, eg. by not accepting plastic shopping bags Keep using items that you can still use Separate your recyclables from other waste and dispose of them appropriately

Reducing Nagoya’s Waste: Used Clothing and Textiles

Used clothing and used textile items should be put out for collection when your local community has a recyclable materials collection (eg. for newspapers, magazines, cardboard, etc.) or disposed of at a recycling station.

These kinds of used clothing and textile items can also be disposed of

・Items that are stained, torn, or missing buttons are OK

・Winter clothing can be disposed of, too

(Futon, pillows, cushions and other products filled with cotton excluded)

These can be disposed of in their present condition

※In some areas it may not be possible to put out these items when newspapers, etc. are collected. Please observe the rules for disposal for your area.
