Recycle Small Household Electric Appliances and Help Make Medals for the Tokyo Olympics!


The City of Nagoya is participating in the “Tokyo 2020 Medal Project: Towards an Innovative Future for All,” which plans to use our “urban mines” to produce medals to be used in the Olympic Games from mobile phones and other small appliances.
The small appliances you deposit in the small appliances collection box at collection locations will be reborn as Olympic medals!


When: Until spring 2019 ※Collection of small appliances will continue after this period.

Items that can be deposited:

Mobile phones, computers, digital cameras and other small appliances of dimensions less than 15cm high x 40cm wide x 25cm deep

Collection locations:

57 locations within the City of Nagoya including general merchandise stores, ward offices and branch offices


・Once deposited, items cannot be removed from the collection box.
・Please remove any personal data before depositing.
