Aichi Museum of Flight

Opening in November 2017, the Aichi Museum of Flight is a new facility that commemorates and educates about Aichi Prefecture’s aircraft industry. Located on the grounds of Nagoya Airport in Toyoyama Town, it’s also a great spot to watch the various aircraft that use the airport.

Scan your “boarding pass” at the departures gate to enter.

Take a trip through time at the Top 100 Famous Aircraft corner, with scale models of aircraft from throughout Japanese aviation history.

Explore the nature and sights of Aichi Prefecture by air in the Flying Box, a theater that simulates the sensation of flying.

The Career Experience corner lets aspiring pilots try out their skills on a flight simulator (50 minutes).
There’s also a Science Lab where children can learn about aeronautics and make things.
Tickets for these workshops are distributed at Reception.

The main display features 6 actual aircraft, including a YS-11 (which made its maiden flight from Nagoya Airport), and a legendary Mitsubishi A6M “Zero” fighter.

Check out the scene on the tarmac from the Café, or watch the planes and helicopters take off and land as you lie back in a hammock on the Observation Deck.
