Aichi Prefectural Road Traffic Law Changes

愛知県道路交通法施行細則の一部改正
From April 1, 2012 the Aichi Prefectural Road Traffic Law changed. You can now receive a fine of up to 50,000 Yen if caught doing one of the following:

  • Using a mobile phone whilst riding a bicycle – this includes texting and looking at the screen.
  • Using headphones / earphones at a volume setting that prevents safe riding (for example unable to hear other vehicles or emergency sirens).
  • Using a car stereo or similar device at a volume setting that prevents safe driving (for example unable to hear other vehicles or emergency sirens).
