Nagoya Castle was a national treasure until most parts of it were destroyed in 1945 during WW2. However, many cultural assets have survived including the north-west and south-east turrets, the Omote-ni-no-mon Gate, many stone walls, the Nino-maru Garden, and Fusuma (sliding door) paintings.
