Wefve been introducing the various subject areas in the reading room of the library in alphabetical order. This month wefll cover the Drama Section (DRA), a still relatively small
collection of just under fifty volumes, nearly half of which are devoted to the plays and other works of William Shakespeare.
Among these is The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, which is gc a reprint of the
highly regarded Shakespeare Head Press edition, and presents all the plays in the chronological order- as far as ascertained- in which they were written. It also includes Shakespearefs Sonnets, as well as his longer poems Venus and Adonis and
The Rape of Lucrece.h
On a lighter note is the anthology, Plays Children Love: A treasury of contemporary and classic plays for children, edited by Coleman A. Jennings and Aurand Harris. It includes
twenty-two contemporary and classic plays for children, eleven of which are for adults to perform for children, and eleven for children to perform themselves. gcEach play has a detailed introduction with production and characterization suggestions.h
