Are you separating your recyclables and waste correctly? Here's a quick refresher on the right way to separate.
Items with the plastic mark or paper mark are recyclable!
Look for the plastic mark and paper mark, and dispose of resources correctly!
★Plastic containers and packaging including trays, bottles, bags, food packaging, etc.
★Paper containers and packaging including empty boxes, paper bags, wrapping paper, etc.
Compact rechargeable batteries cannot be collected.
Please deposit batteries for smartphones, cameras, etc. with these marks at the recycling points at Environmental Works offices, electronics stores, etc.
Please see the JBRC website (https://www.jbrc.com/) for participating locations. (Japanese language site)

Wipe out illegal dumping and littering! November is Illegal Dumping Awareness Month
Illegal dumping is a crime.
Illegal dumping will incur a prison sentence of 5 years or a fine of 10 million yen, or both.
The recycling of appliances such as TVs and washing machines is mandatory, so they cannot be disposed of as Large-Sized Garbage (粗大ごみ).
If you are unsure how to dispose of an appliance appropriately, please check the Nagoya City Garbage Reduction and Recycling Guide on the City of Nagoya website (see below), or inquire at the Environmental Works office of the ward in which you live. You can also look up how to separate garbage and recyclables in the City of Nagoya using the "3R" (ThreeR) smartphone app (see above).
Also remember that littering and leaving empty cans, cigarette butts, PET bottles, etc. in the street, in parks and other public places is prohibited. Don't just assume that someone else is going to deal with your litter for you; and if there is no bin, take your waste home.
★A Stop Illegal Dumping Campaign event will be held on 30 Nov. Mascot characters from Nagoya's neighboring municipalities will be gathering at Nagoya Station!
