May is the Month to Promote Child Abuse Prevention in Nagoya City(5月は名古屋市の児童虐待防止推進月間です。)

Watching over and talking to children in the community is important for early detection of child abuse.

Your call or consultation will be a major step toward protecting children and supporting parents or guardians who are struggling to raise their children.

This hotline responds to calls for help from children as well as parents or guardians who are struggling to raise their children.

*Child abuse is an act by a parent or guardian that causes harm to a child and includes the following:

Physical abuse: harming a child's body (hitting, kicking, shaking violently, burning, drowning, etc.)

Neglect: failure to care adequately for a child (failure to provide food, leaving a child in extremely unhygienic setting, failure to take a child to hospital even if the child is seriously ill, etc.)

Emotional abuse: verbal attacks and rejection (verbal threats, ignoring, violence against family members in front of a child, etc.)

Sexual abuse: engaging in indecent acts with a child (engaging in sexual activities with a child, exposing a child to sexual activities, making a child the subject of pornography, etc.)
