The Japanese title of this exhibition is Marutto Shōdōbutsu Ten. In the Tokai region, the expression 'marutto,' means 'whole,' or 'entirety.' ('Maru' means 'circle'; the adjective 'marui' means 'round.') The definition of 'shōdōbutsu' ('small animals') is vague, but broadly covers such creatures as rabbits, small birds, penguins, and so on. This exhibition is thus named in the hope that visitors will enjoy a broad spectrum of small animals in their entirety through the works presented, along with the 'roundness' that characterises so many little creatures.
There will also be a variety of handmade goods, including embroidered accessories and felt art, and other items to purchase.
Plus, visitors will receive an original postcard filled with soothing cuteness.
