★Please note that events may be subject to change or cancellation without notice. Please check official websites for updates.★

Domatsuri_300x225.jpgThe Nippon Domannaka Matsuri (Domatsuri for short) is one of the largest dance festivals in Japan, held in Nagoya, the center of Japan, at the height of summer. This new-style festival is open to all, and welcomes around 200 teams with 20,000 performers from Japan and abroad, in performances vibrant with the local color of their respective regions.
Around 2 million people come to see the festival over four days as central Nagoya takes on dazzling festival colors. Each team presents a spectacular performance with brilliant costumes to a rhythmical representation of the culture of their region.
This year's Nippon Domannaka Matsuri takes a different form, taking place online as the inaugural TeleDomatsuri. Participating teams will each create, edit and submit in advance a video of their performance to festival managers, which will be broadcast online (via YouTube, Niconico) from 28 to 30 August.
Check the official website for updates.

When: Fri. 28 Aug. (from around 17:00) - Streaming exciting archival footage from past Domatsuri; Sat. 29 and Sun. 30 Aug. - Streaming of performances by this year's participating teams. Award ceremony 30 Aug.
