TRIALOGUE: The 20th Century Western Art from the Collections of Yokohama Museum of Art, Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art, Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design (「トライアローグ 横浜美術館・愛知県美術館・富山県美術館 20世紀西洋美術コレクション」)

2021.05.27

TrialogueOrangery_300x196.jpgIn the 30 or 40 years since they opened, the Yokohama Museum of Art, Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art, and Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design, three representative regional art museums, have each built up substantial collections, with a common focus on 20th-century Western art as a pillar of those collections. This exhibition is a three-way conversation gathering the uniformly excellent pieces from each collection to give a bird's eye view of the progression of 20th-century Western art.
See around 120 carefully selected works by Picasso, Miró, Klee, Ernst, Dalí, Magritte, Pollock, Bacon, Warhol, Richter and more, masters who reformed the concept of art while creating diverse forms of expression.
