This exhibition presents the diverse floral patterns of Chinese porcelain, with a focus on flowers of the four seasons: peony, lotus, chrysanthemum, and plum blossom. In addition to an examination of the colors and techniques used, exhibits will explore the worldview of the Chinese classics and poetry, and the fascination with flowers and the history of flower viewing.


When: Sat. 9 Oct. to Sun. 12 Dec. (9:30 - 16:30; 11:00 - 16:30 on 9 Oct.; Last entry 30 minutes before closing.) Closed Mondays (or the following weekday if Monday is a national holiday).
Where: Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum (愛知県陶磁美術館), Seto City (瀬戸市)
Access: A 600-meter walk from Tōjishiryōkan Minami Sta. (陶磁資料館南駅, L08) on the Linimo (リニモ) Line.
Admission: General admission 900 Yen; University & Senior HS students 700 Yen; Junior HS students & younger free; Discount available for holders of a Certificate of Disability and one accompanying person (conditions apply; see website for details). (Prices include admission to the permanent exhibit.)
