Hosa Library: Thematic Exhibition, Captivating Kohitsu (蓬佐文庫企画展「うるわしの古筆」)

 Kohitsu, in a narrow sense, refers to a collection of poems written by aristocrats in the Heian and Kamakura periods. In this exhibition, an array of kohitsu masterpieces will be on display, ranging from works passed down in the Owari Tokugawa family, such as the Shigeyukishu poem collection and a fragment of the Meikakashu-gire collection, to donated fragments of Ishiyama-gire and the Sekido version of Kokin Wakashu-gire.

 

When: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last entry at 4:30 p.m.), Thursday, January 4 to Sunday, January 28, 2024

Closed: Monday (except for January 8, a national holiday); Tuesday, January 9

Where: Exhibition room at Hosa Library (Higashi Ward, Nagoya City)

How to get there:

  • From Nagoya Station

[City bus] Gate 10 at Nagoya Station Bus Terminal

Take a key route No. 2 bus to Tokugawaen Shindeki. It's a 3-minute walk from there.

[Meitetsu bus] Gate 4 on the 3rd floor, Meitetsu Bus Center

Take a key route bus bound for Sangenya to Tokugawaen Shindeki. It's a 3-minute walk from there.

Take the JR Chuo Line to Ozone Station and take the South Exit. It's a 10-minute walk from there.

[Subway]

Take a subway on the Meijo Line to Ozone Station and take Exit 3. It's a 15-minute walk from there.

Take a subway on the Sakura-dori Line to Kurumamichi Station and take Exit 1 or 2. It's a 15-minute walk from there.

[City bus] Gate 3 at Sakae Bus Terminal (Oasis 21)

Take a key route No. 2 bus to Tokugawaen Shindeki. It's a 3-minute walk from there.

 

Admission: ¥1,400 for adults, ¥800 for high school and university students, ¥500 for elementary and junior high school students

*Admission includes access to the Tokugawa Art Museum.

*Visitors who are 65 or older can receive a ¥200 discount by presenting an ID.

*Free entry for elementary, junior high, and high school students every Saturday
