The 45th Osu Street Performer Festival (第45回大須大道町人祭)

2024.10.20

This is the only festival where you can see street performers from all over the country gathered in one place.

Also, you won't be able to take your eyes off Osu's specialty, the oiran-dōchū (procession of courtesans), which is hugely popular every year!

Oiran-dōchū performed by women is the highlight of the festival.

Dressed in gorgeous Oiran costumes, they parade through the shopping street accompanied by umbrella bearers, male attendants, kamuro (child attendants), and shinzo (lower-ranked courtesans), making the symbol of the Japanese kanji for eight with their wooden clogs.

Date: October 18 (Fri.) (eve festival), October 19 (Sat.) and October 20 (Sun.), 2024

Location: Osu Shopping Street (Osu 2-chome, 3-chome, Naka-ku, Nagoya)

For inquiries, please contact: Osu Shopping Street Federation (TEL: 052-261-2287)
