Special Exhibition "Swords associated with warlords of the Sengoku period -- Oda Nobunaga"(特別展「戦国武将ゆかりの刀剣~織田信長~」)

2025.08.31

Nagoya Sword Museum, "Nagoya Touken World," will be holding a special exhibition, "Swords associated with warlords of the Sengoku period: Oda Nobunaga," in the special exhibition room on the 4th floor of the North Building, from Saturday, June 7 to Sunday, August 31, 2025). Oda Nobunaga is one of the most well-known and popular warlords of the Sengoku period. This exhibition introduces swords associated with the Oda clan and the Owari region. Among the main exhibits, you can appreciate rare masterpiece swords such as the National Treasure "Short sword, Inscribed Rai Kunimitsu (a Meibutsu (noted sword) Uraku Rai Kunimitsu)," which was bestowed by Toyotomi Hideyori to Oda Urakusai (Oda Nagamasu), the youngest brother of Oda Nobunaga and a warlord; and a specially designated important sword, "Sword, Unsigned, Kagemitsu, Suriage by Oda Danjo no Jo Nobuhide," handed down by Oda Nobuhide, the father of Oda Nobunaga and a warlord known as the "Tiger of Owari." Enjoy viewing these swords along with their histories, as well as stories of the Sengoku warlords.
