Applications for the NIC Japanese Class (NIC日本語教室1～3月ターム)

- Japanese classes for adults (aged 16 years and older).
- All classes focus on conversation. While talking with volunteers, you will learn about the Japanese language and life in Japan.
- No textbooks are used.
＜Open to＞
Non-native speakers of Japanese who live in Aichi, Gifu or Mie prefectures
(Elementary and junior HS students not accepted. Priority given to residents of Nagoya City.)
We prioritize the applicant who match the level of the course. (Please refer to the following.)

＜Period＞
Every Sunday for 3 months (Jan.14 - Mar.24, 2024)
(90 minutes per lesson, 10 lessons) ※Classes will be canceled on February 11th.
★If you are absent for three consecutive sessions without contacting us, your registration will be deleted and you will not be able to participate in the remaining sessions of that term. Thank you for your understanding.

Apply via the NIC website between 12:00 Sun. 10 December to 12:00 Sun. 24 December, 2023.
※It will end as soon as it reaches the capacity
・Interview: Sun. January 7 from 10:00~ or 12:00~ at NIC 5F Conference rooms 1

○Residents of other municipalities
(if vacancies remain,※Preference will be given to those residing in Nagoya City and those who match the level of the course):

【How to level check yourself】
Before applying, please be sure to check your level on the website "TSUNAHIRO"
Please enter the results of your level check on the NIC application form.
※Please take the level check in a language you understand. Select a language you understand from the menu at the top right of the screen.
※The level check must be taken by the person taking the course.
【Level Check Results and Recommended Classes】
●If your result is "Try level 1", please apply for "Nihongo 1".
●If your result is "Try level 2", please apply for "Nihongo 2".
●If your result is "Memorize useful Japanese phrases."
→The "Nihongo 1" and "Nihongo 2" may be difficult for you. Please understand the following and apply for "Nihongo 1" between 12:00 Wed.13 September to 12:00 Fri, (※It will end as soon as it reaches the capacity) if you want to participate in our class.
・We prioritize the applicant who match the level of the course (Level 1 and Level 2 applicants.)
・For those who would like to learn the basics of Japanese for the first time, we recommend the "Maruhachi Japanese Language Classes" offered by the City of Nagoya.
●If your result is "Try level 3" / "Your Japanese ability is higher than the levels for which this website is designed."
→"Nihongo 1" and "Nihongo 2" may be too easy for you. Please understand the following and apply for "Nihongo 2" between 12:00 Wed.13 September to 12:00 Fri, (※It will end as soon as it reaches the capacity) if you wish to participate in our class.
