Applying to the City of Nagoya for the Special Cash Payment (100,000 Yen) (名古屋市特別定額給付金（１０万円）の申し込みについて)
As part of measures to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19, the Japanese government will be providing 100,000 Yen per person to every person residing in Japan. To be eligible to receive the 100,000 Yen payment, one must have been registered with the Basic Resident Registration System as of April 27, 2020.
Foreign nationals can also receive the special cash payment.
*For those whose status of residence or period of residence has changed - Even if you were not registered as a resident on 27 April 2020, you may still be eligible to receive the Special Cash Payment (100,000 Yen) [Added 26 June]
How to apply / When to apply:
■Online applications (My Number card required; application cannot be made with only the My Number notification card)
*An application for a My Number card can take approximately 1 or 2 months, and will require the applicant to visit the ward office. If you already have a My Number card but do not know the PIN number, the card is locked, or the validity of the electronic certificate has expired, etc., you will also be required to visit the ward office. To avoid coming into close contact with others in crowded, closed spaces, residents who are currently unable to use the My Number card are advised to apply for the payment by post (see below).
*Apply online via the Myna Portal (マイナポータル) (Japanese).
The following items will be required when submitting your application online.
- The My Number card of the applicant (the head of the household)
Only the head of the household is able to submit the application. You can apply for payments for all other members of the household (including those who do not have a My Number card).
- A smartphone capable of reading the My Number card (or a computer with IC card reader)
- The Myna Portal app installed
- The PIN number set when receiving the My Number card
- Documents to confirm the bank account into which the payment is to be deposited
■Postal applications (My Number card not required)
Applications will be delivered to Nagoya City residents by post from 25 May and through June. Please understand that delivery dates may vary. It is expected that application forms will have been delivered by mid-June. If you have not received the form by mid-June, please contact the Call Center.
*You do not need to apply to have the form delivered.
*There will not be any consultation counters for the special cash payment at ward or other municipal offices.
*If you have moved since April 27 or are temporarily living at an address other than that at which you are registered with the Basic Resident Register, please request to have your mail forwarded at a post office.

Distribution of payments:
Payments will be deposited in the bank account designated by applicants on the application form.
