Temporary Special Benefit to Support Low-income Households with Children (other than single-parent households) (低所得の子育て世帯に対する子育て世帯生活支援特別給付金(ひとり親世帯以外))

Temporary special benefits (kosodate setai seikatsu shien tokubetsu kyufukin / 子育て世帯生活支援特別給付金) will be provided to support families with low incomes who are raising children.

*Consultations are available at the Temporary Special Benefits to Support Households with Children (Kosodate seikatsu shien Tokubetsu kyūfukin) consultation corner at each ward office.

Eligibility

Persons to whom both conditions 1. and 2. apply


1. Parents or guardians of children who were under 18 years of age (under 20 years of age for children with special needs) as at 31 March 2021

*Also includes children born up to the end of February 2022.
*Children with special needs refers to children approved to receive the Special Child-rearing Allowance (tokubetsu jidō fuyō teate / 特別児童扶養手当).


2. Persons who are exempted from paying Resident Tax (jūmin-zei / 住民税) for fiscal year 2021, or whose income since 1 January 2021 has decreased to a level equivalent to that which would be exempt from Resident Tax.


① Households who received Child Allowance (jidō teate / 児童手当) or Special Child-rearing Allowance in April 2021 and are exempted from Resident Tax for fiscal year 2021 (except recipients of Public Servant Child Allowance)


(1)Persons who were residing in Nagoya City as at 1 January 2021

How to apply: No application required. Notification will be sent from 7 July onward.
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child
Payment period: Around 19 July 2021
Payment method: Benefit will be transferred to the designated account into which Child Allowance is paid.


(2)Persons who moved to Nagoya City on or after 2 January 2021

How to apply: No application required. Notification will be sent from 16 July onward.
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child
Payment period: Around 29 July 2021
Payment method: Benefit will be transferred to the designated account into which Child Allowance is paid.


② Households with children born between 2 April 2021 and 28 February 2022 who will begin receiving Child Allowance and are exempted from Resident Tax for fiscal year 2021 (except recipients of Public Servant Child Allowance)

How to apply: No application required. Notification will be sent from 16 July onward.
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child
Payment period: Around 29 July 2021
Payment method: Benefit will be transferred to the designated account into which Child Allowance is paid.


③ Households with children born between 2 April 2003 and 1 April 2006 who receive Public Servant Child Allowance and are exempted from Resident Tax for fiscal year 2021

How to apply: Fill in the application form as required, and attach a copy of your personal identification (driver's license, health insurance card, passport, etc.) to the sheet provided, and submit your application by post. The application form can be downloaded from the City of Nagoya website (Japanese; see below).
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child
Payment period: Payment will be made once the application has been confirmed
Payment method: Benefit will be transferred to the account designated.


④ Households whose income since 1 January 2021 has decreased to a level equivalent to that which would be exempt from Resident Tax, due to the impact of COVID-19

How to apply: Fill in the application form as required, and attach a copy of your personal identification (driver's license, health insurance card, passport, etc.) to the sheet provided, and submit your application by post. The application form can be downloaded from the City of Nagoya website (Japanese).
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child
Payment period: Payment will be made once the application has been confirmed
Payment method: Benefit will be transferred to the account designated.
