看板を読もう「中止・休止・休館」
The threat of COVID-19 has seen a lot of events cancelled and facilities closed. Sometimes there's English to help those who don't read Japanese, but a lot of the time there isn't. Look out for these expressions on websites and on facility entrances.
Events
開催 kaisai (holding / staging [of event])
中止 chūshi (cancelled)
御案内/ご案内 go-annai (notice)
Facilities
臨時 rinji (irregular; unscheduled)
休館 kyūkan ([building or facility, e.g. museum, gallery] closed)
~中 ~chū (now; currently)
Extended disruptions
延長 enchō (extension)
当面 / 当分の間 tōmen / tōbun no aida (for the foreseeable future / until further notice)
休止 kyūshi (pause; suspension [of service])
