Temporary special benefits (Kosodate setai seikatsu shien tokubetsu kyūfukin / 子育て世帯生活支援特別給付金) will be provided to support single-parent households (hitori oya setai / ひとり親世帯) with low incomes.

*Consultations are available at the Temporary Special Benefits to Support Households with Children (Kosodate seikatsu shien Tokubetsu kyūfukin) consultation corner at each ward office.

①Single-parent households receiving child-rearing allowance (jido fuyo teate / 児童扶養手当)

How to apply: No application required
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child*
Payment period: 11 May 2021
Payment method: Benefit has been transferred to the designated account into which child-rearing allowance is paid.

②Single-parent households who did not receive child-rearing allowance for April 2021 due to receipt of public pension, etc.

How to apply: Fill in the application form as required, and attach a copy of your personal identification (driver's license, health insurance card, passport, etc.) to the sheet provided, and submit your application by post. The application form can be downloaded from the City of Nagoya website (Japanese).
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child*
Payment period: 14 May 2021
Payment method: Benefit will be transferred to the account designated on the application form.

③Single-parent households whose income is equivalent to that of child-rearing allowance recipients, having declined due to the COVID-19 pandemic

How to apply: Fill in the application form as required, and attach a copy of your personal identification (driver's license, health insurance card, passport, etc.) to the sheet provided, and submit your application by post. The application form can be downloaded from the City of Nagoya website (Japanese).
Benefit amount: 50,000 Yen per child*
Payment period: From 14 June 2021
Payment method: Benefit will be transferred to the account designated on the application form.

*'Child' is defined as

• a child under the age of 18 (includes 18 year olds up until the 31 March following their 18th birthday)
• a person under the age of 20 who has a recognized disability
