Check what time a shop is open, and, as many shops and facilities close on a designated day each week, which day it' s closed.

Business hours

Key expressions:


時間 jikan (time; hour)


営業時間 eigyō jikan (business hours)


24時間営業 nijūyojikan eigyō (open 24 hours)

Key character: 休 kyū (holiday; rest)


Key expressions:


定休 teikyū (regular holiday)


定休日 teikyūbi (closed on [day of the week])

E.g. 定休日:日曜日 Teikyūbi: Nichiyōbi (Closed Sundays)


無休 mukyū / 定休日:なし teikyūbi: nashi / 年中無休 nenjū mukyū (no regular holiday, open 365 days a year)
