There will be changes made to the child allowance system (from October 2024).

 

■The age range of payment eligibility will change. A child is eligible until the first March 31 following the child's 18th birthday.

　Example: A child born in February 2007 will turn 18 in February 2025 and will be able to receive a child allowance until March 2025.

■There are no longer any income limits.

■The allowance for the third child and subsequent children will be 30,000 yen.

■There will be six payments per year. Payments are made in even months.

February 15	For December and January
April 15	For February and March
June 15	For April and May
August 15	For June and July
October 15	For August and September
