Q:
I heard that applications for public high schools are submitted online. It is necessary to enter everything in Japanese, so I'm worried about whether I can do it properly. Could you please tell me about the procedures, etc.?
A:
The online application system is operated by the Aichi Prefectural Board of Education. You can submit an application using a smartphone, computer, tablet, or other device that can connect to the internet. You will also need a printer, but if you don't have one at home, you can use a convenience store's printing service.
The application system will open in mid-December, so the first thing you will need to do is registration as a user. After that, you will follow the instructions to register information, such as your preferred school, during the application period.
The examination fee can be paid by credit card or at a convenience store.
Once your application information is confirmed, you will be able to download your admission ticket for an examination. Please print it out and be sure to bring it with you on the day of the exam.
If you graduated from junior high school in a country other than Japan, you will need to have your graduation certificate or other documents confirming your eligibility in order to apply. For more information, please contact the Upper Secondary Education Division, Aichi Prefectural Board of Education.
