【NEW】Pay slip(給与明細について)

2025.04.08

Q:

I started working in April and I received my first salary. I also received a pay slip. Tell me about my salary and what is written on my pay slip.

A:

Your salary includes your basic salary (the amount stated as "salary" in the contract), commuting allowance, overtime allowance, housing allowance, dependent (family) allowance, qualification allowance, etc. The allowances paid vary depending on the company.

Also, when working for a company, money is taken (withheld) from your monthly salary. These amounts are social insurance (health insurance, employees' pension insurance, employment insurance), income tax, resident tax, and other fees determined by the company (lunch fees, union fees, etc.).

Usually, the amounts to be added and deducted are explained when entering the company. The information is written in the contract. If you are not sure, ask someone in the company's payroll department.
