Seki City in Gifu Prefecture, known as the "City of Blades," hosts the Seki City Cutlery Festival. This major event attracts large numbers of tourists from across Japan each year. The "Hamono Great Bargain Market," held along the Honmachi-dori shopping street, features about 50 cutlery makers offering kitchen knives, scissors, pocket knives, and more at bargain prices.

Across the city, visitors can experience events unique to the city, such as dramatic traditional sword-forging demonstrations with sparks flying, Japan's largest outdoor knife show, and iaigiri (sword-cutting performance).
