Furukawa Art Museum and Tamesaburo Memorial Museum (branch facility of Furukawa Art Museum) Special Exhibition: Appreciate the World of Folding Screens in Sukiya-Style Japanese Rooms(古川美術館・文館爲三郎記念館 特別展「数寄屋の日本間で味わう屏風の世界」)

Through the landscapes depicted on folding screens and hanging scrolls, this exhibition invites visitors to quietly and deeply appreciate the spatial aesthetics of the Sukiya-style architecture of Tamesaburo Memorial Museum. Visitors can also savor the essence of Japanese beauty--born from the harmony of paintings and space--as they experience the flow of perspectives, seasons, and narratives.

 

Dates: Friday, March 13 to Sunday, May 10, 2026

    [First period] Friday, March 13 to Sunday, April 12

    [Second period] Tuesday, April 14 to Sunday, May 10

Closed: Monday (or the following weekday if Monday is a holiday)

*Open on Monday, May 4 (national holiday) through Wednesday, May 6 (substitute holiday) and closed on Thursday, May 7, instead

Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last entry at 4:30 p.m.)

Location: Tamesaburo Memorial Museum (branch facility of Furukawa Art Museum)

Admission: ¥1,200 for adults, ¥500 for high school and university students, free for junior high school students and younger
