This special exhibition explores the "Big Five," the five major mass extinction events that have occurred over the 4 billion years, from the birth of life on Earth to the present. Through the evidence left in fossils and rocks, we unravel the extinctions caused by global environmental changes, including asteroid impacts and large-scale volcanic activity, and the subsequent evolution of life. Under the supervision of research staff at the National Museum of Nature and Science, this exhibition introduces the dynamic changes in the history of life from paleontology, paleoclimate, and paleoceanography perspectives.
