Located on the Baltic Sea, the Republic of Lithuania is where Chiune Sugihara- the diplomat who spent his youth in Nagoya- issued his renowned "Visas for Life" to Jewish refugees during World War II.

Inspired by the enduring ties established through Sugihara's humanitarian legacy, the Nagoya City Museum has developed a close partnership with the National Museum of Lithuania, culminating in the signing of a friendship agreement in August last year.
