【2025】Applications for the NIC Japanese Class(NIC日本語教室)

●Japanese classes for adults (aged 16 years and older).

●All classes focus on conversation. While talking with volunteers, you will learn about the Japanese language and life in Japan.

●No textbooks are used.

<Open to>Non-native Japanese speakers who are aged 16 or older (priority given to those who live in Nagoya City)

(Elementary and junior HS students not accepted. Priority given to residents of Nagoya City.)

<Period>Every Sunday for 3 months (90 minutes per lesson, 10 lessons)

  • - [May term] Held on every Sunday from May 18 to July 20
  • Interview and payment: from 10:00 a.m. or from noon, Sunday, May 11
  • -[September term] Held on every Sunday from September 21 to November 23
  • Interview and payment: from 10:00 a.m. or from noon, Sunday, September 14
  • - [January term] Held on every Sunday from January 18 to March 29 *Except for February 8
  • Interview and payment: from 10:00 a.m. or from noon, Sunday, January 11

<Participation Fee> 1,000 yen ※The participation fee once paid cannot be refunded.

NIHONGO 1 10:00-11:30 15

For basic- to beginner-level students.

Participants will practice phrases and short conversations used in everyday situations.

12:00-13:30 15
NIHONGO 2 10:00-11:30 15

For beginner- to intermediate-level students.

Participants will learn conversations

 necessary for daily life and useful

 expressions for a more comfortable life.
12:00-13:30 15

※The level check must be taken by the person taking the course.

【Level Check Results and Recommended Classes】

  • If your result is "Try level 1", please apply for "Nihongo 1".
  • If your result is "Try level 2", please apply for "Nihongo 2".
  • If your result is "Memorize useful Japanese phrases."
  • →The "Nihongo 1" and "Nihongo 2" may be difficult for you. Please understand the following and apply for "Nihongo 1" if you want to participate in our class.
  • ・For those who would like to learn the basics of Japanese for the first time, we recommend the "Maruhachi Japanese Language Classes" offered by the City of Nagoya.
