NIC International Walking Autumn 2026(NIC国際交流ウォーキング2026秋)

NIC International Walking Autumn 2026: Viewing "Lithuania, Songs Echo in the Baltic Forests," a special exhibition at the Nagoya City Museum commemorating the signing of the sister-city agreement between Nagoya and Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and walking along the Yamazaki River in Mizuho Ward


NIC International Walking is an event in which foreign national and Japanese participants explore Nagoya's historical and cultural heritage together.

Volunteer walking guides from NIC will lead participants along the route.

The signing of a sister city agreement between Nagoya and Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, is scheduled for September. To commemorate this event, NIC International Walking participants will view "Lithuania, Songs Echo in the Baltic Forests," a special exhibition at the Nagoya City Museum.

On the way to the museum, participants will walk along Shikinomichi (Path of Four Seasons), the Yamazaki River promenade in Mizuho Ward, while stopping at places of interest along the way.


All participants will receive a commemorative Vilnius-Nagoya sister city pin badge and a clear plastic folder!

Note: The event will be conducted in English and simple Japanese.

 


Date and time: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (will be held in case of light rain)

Course: Paloma Mizuho Stadium → Yamazaki River promenade → Nagoya City Museum

Meeting point: The ticket gate at Mizuho Undojo Higashi Station (Meijo Subway Line)

Capacity: About 20 foreign nationals (first come, first served); 15 Japanese nationals (selected by lottery)

Cost: Free (museum admission fee required separately)

Admission fees for the Nagoya City Museum special exhibition (group rates): 1,200 yen for adults, 900 yen for high school students, free for junior high school students and younger

Application: Via website or email starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Applications will close when capacity is reached.

(Japanese participants can apply only via the website from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, through 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026.)


Important notes:

  • Each application form may be used by only one applicant.

  • In this event, participants will walk in groups. The organizer will assign participants to groups based on the information provided in their applications in order to encourage interaction. Therefore, family members or friends may not be in the same group.

  • Participants of junior high school age or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The accompanying parent or guardian must submit a separate application.

  • This event is primarily intended for adults. Therefore, if you bring young children, we may not be able to provide adequate support. Parents or guardians are responsible for taking care of children accompanying them.
